The Honest Money Show

Who I actually trust with Bitcoin

Let me be straight with you. The Bitcoin world is full of noise, and a lot of people will happily take your money and leave you worse off. So I've done something simple: I only point you toward people and businesses I've vetted, use myself, or send my own family to.

These are my sponsors, yes. But it works the other way around to how you might think. I didn't find people willing to pay me. I found the ones I already believed in, and asked them to back the show. If I wouldn't recommend them for free, they wouldn't be here.

Here's the path I'd walk a friend through, step by step.

First, buy your Bitcoin

Get started, the safe way

HardBlock

Anja is a customer

Before anything else, you need somewhere trustworthy to actually buy Bitcoin. In Australia, that's HardBlock. They're Bitcoin-only (no shady altcoins, no casino energy), and they're refreshingly transparent: clear on pricing, seriously security and privacy focused, with over a decade of trust and proof of work behind them. They also offer dollar-cost-averaging, so they're genuinely built for people using Bitcoin as a savings vehicle, not a casino. Start here, grab your first sats, and you'll even get a $10 bonus paid in BTC to get going.

Then, learn to hold it yourself

Get it off the exchange, safely

Mineracks · Piers

Anja is a customer

Buying Bitcoin is the easy part. Holding it properly, off the exchange, in your own custody, is where most people freeze up. That's where Piers comes in. He's my own mentor, and honestly, Australia (and the world) is lucky to have him. The patience of a saint, a genuine wealth of knowledge, and zero judgement no matter how basic your questions feel. He's also got a killer sense of humour, so your sessions will actually be fun, not the dry, intimidating slog you might be dreading. If you want to truly own your Bitcoin, start with him.

Or, get a hand holding it

Don't want to go it alone?

The Bitcoin Adviser

Anja is a customer

Self-custody isn't for everyone, and that's completely okay. If managing your whole stack yourself feels like too much, collaborative custody is the answer: you stay in control, but you're not carrying the whole weight on your own. The Bitcoin Adviser handles exactly this, plus the grown-up stuff most people avoid thinking about, security, inheritance planning, and what happens to your Bitcoin when you're gone.

Kit yourself out

The right gear, no guesswork

Shop Bitcoin Australia

Anja is a customer

Once you're serious, you'll want the proper kit, signing devices, Bitaxes, nodes, and yes, a bit of apparel to fly your colours. Shop Bitcoin Australia is the local spot for all of it, so you're not gambling on dodgy overseas sellers or knock-offs.

When you're further down the road

Borrow against it, keep your stack

Loan My Coins

Not personally tested by Anja

I'll be upfront: this is the one service here I haven't personally used, simply because I don't hold enough Bitcoin to need it. It's a specialist product, really aimed at finance-minded folks further along the journey, once you've reached what I'd call terminal Bitcoin and you'd rather not sell. The idea is that you borrow against your Bitcoin instead of selling it (which would trigger a tax event), so you keep your stack and your future upside. Importantly, Loan My Coins vets every enquiry to check the product is actually appropriate for you. This is not suitable for a beginner or everyday retail investor, and to their credit, they won't risk their reputation letting a novice use it. Treat it with real respect: borrowing against Bitcoin carries genuine risk.

One last thing

I only ever recommend things I genuinely believe in, and I keep this list deliberately short. Some of these are paid partnerships, some are value-for-value, some are in-kind, it varies, and we're still in early days, folks. But the trust runs the same way regardless: they're here because I rate them, not the other way around. I may earn a little if you use some of these links, at no extra cost to you.

Always do your own research. Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

How Anja works with partners

Honest by design

The Bitcoin-only industry in Australia is still a budding one, with only a handful of businesses and skillsets that genuinely align, so some overlap between partners and people is natural in a space this small.

To be specific: HardBlock sponsors The Honest Money Show, Anja is a HardBlock customer, and as of June 2026 she is also part of the HardBlock team, helping the business build and grow. Her other partners are already aware of this arrangement.

None of that changes the standard she holds herself to. Anja will continue to support Australia, her growing audience, and her partners in an ethical and mindful way, always acting with integrity and holding a high standard of honesty for herself and her guests. Being open about these connections is how she protects that. Where a relationship is more than it appears, a sponsor, a partner, or an employer, she'll always tell you, plainly, here and in the show notes.

If she recommends something, it's because she means it. And where there's a connection you should know about, like this one, she'll always tell you.
